We asked moms & their daughters what they want from skincare - what we learned was surprising

When we started brainstorming about LYM, we knew we didn’t want to create another skincare brand based on our own assumptions.
We wanted to listen first.
Before creating products, packaging, or routines, we asked girls and parents a simple question:
What do you actually want from skincare?
The answers helped shape everything about LYM.
Girls are interested in skincare — but they need something made for them.
One thing became clear right away: skincare is already part of the conversation for girls.
In our survey, over 80% of respondents shared that the girls in their lives were interested in skincare. They were curious, excited, and looking for routines that felt like their own.
But interest doesn’t mean they need a complicated routine.
They need something that meets them where they are.
Moms want to support the interest — they just want guidance.
Parents told us they were navigating a confusing skincare world.
There are endless products, trends, and recommendations everywhere you look. Many moms shared concerns about products being too harsh for young skin, complicated routines, and ingredients that don’t feel appropriate for this stage of life.
The message was consistent:
Parents want to say yes to skincare — they just want to feel good about what they’re saying yes to.
Skincare is becoming a confidence ritual.
The girls we talked to weren’t just looking for products.
They wanted something fun. Something that felt special. Something that was theirs.
The things that mattered most to them were the same things we kept hearing over and over:
✨ Products that are easy to use
✨ Recommendations from friends
✨ Packaging they’re excited to have on their shelf
✨ A routine that feels like a moment for themselves
LYM is built around the idea that taking care of yourself can be simple — and meaningful.
The right skincare should fit into real life.
The girls growing up today are busy.
They’re athletes, artists, students, friends, and dreamers. They’re heading to practice, going to school, spending weekends with friends, and figuring out who they are.
Their skincare routine should fit into those moments — not add another complicated thing to manage.
More than skincare.
The biggest thing we learned from this research wasn’t actually about skincare.
It was about confidence.
Girls want to feel good about themselves. Parents want to help them build healthy habits. And both want something that feels positive, age-appropriate, and encouraging.
That’s the heart of LYM.
Love You More.
A reminder that taking care of yourself isn’t about changing who you are.
It’s about celebrating who you’re becoming.
Thank you to every mom, daughter, and friend who shared their thoughts with us. Your feedback is helping us build LYM from the very beginning — and we can’t wait to share what’s next.
